Victorian Maid

Dress. This full length, long sleeved, high necked dress is sure to impress.

Made entirely in satin, it has an elasticated waist and zip up back, so is really easy to get into, and has a wide frill at the hem of the skirt, with a contrasting ribbon trim at the top of the frill (mirroring the apron). Total skirt length 39"-40" including the lace trim.

Available in all our satin colours, but is shown in black for a victorian maid.

Apron. Made in white satin, it has frills up and over the shoulders and wide tiers making up the skirt, and has a contrasting ribbon detail around the shoulders and bottom tier. It is secured by a ribbon tie at the back.

0462 Button Front Victorian Cotton Petticoat

A full-length cotton petticoat, very victorian in style but with a slightly modern twist - it has a wide waist band but is designed to sit on the hips a few inches lower than the waistline. I thnk this would make an excellent skirt too!

Full length, approx 38" long (so about 40" from waist to hem), button front fastening, wide cotton double frill at the hem, edged with lace.

0743 Edwardian Maid

Dress. Full length dress made in heavy drill cotton. Spectacular dress with high collar and huge leg-o`-mutton sleeves, deep cuffs with around 14 tiny buttons, long skirt with wide lace frill. There is a zip-up back, and the collar buttons up with 5 tiny fabric covered buttons. The waist is elasticated, then the skirt is gathered into the waist. It has a drill cotton frill at the hem and lots of black lace.

There is a huge amount of individual attention given to each of these dresses - the buttons are made specially and are hand sewn. The effect is amazing !

Available in black only.

Waist Apron. Long apron made in drill cotton, with a lighterweight poly-cotton frill around the edge. This ties around the waist with a cotton tie. White Only.

Maids Hat. Drill cotton bonnet with lace frill, sewn on so that it stands upright. Ties at the back of the head with ribbon. Black with white lace.

Bib-fronted long length apron made in drill cotton, with a polycotton frill all around. The shoulder straps cross over at the back and the cotton waist tie threads through the shoulder straps to hold it all in place.

0874 Victorian Cook

The Dress is made entirely from satin, and has a slightly flared skirt gathered at the waist, long sleeves and a round neck-line with a white satin collar. The waist is elasticated, plus it has a zip-up back. Lace trim at the collar sleeves and hem finish it off.

Available in all my satin colours

The Apron is made out of white poly-cotton, it has a three-quarter length skirt with a tiny bib front. Long shoulder straps cross over at the back where they run through loops at the back of the skirt. Tie them in a bow and, hey presto!, the apron is on!

Currently available in white poly-cotton only - and comes in one size fits all!

0741 Edwardian Frilled Full Length Skirt

Truly spectacular, we made this as an underskirt to go with the 0743 Edwardian Maid Dress, but it's just too fantastic to hide away!

Made from cotton and lace - and lashings of it! It really is a "Royal Ascot" outfit.

2-layer cotton skirt, both layers very tightly gathered into a fitted 2" waistband which fastens at the back with a couple of buttons. The botton skirt layer has a deep cotton frill edged with gathered lace. Then the top layer has row upon row of gathered wide lace.

The finished article is truly stunning - and with all that lace it is heavy too!

Period Nurse/Nanny Dress

The idea for this dress came from a film set in WWI, and the dress is based on a Nurse dress design. However, the dress also makes a fantastic uniform for an austere Nanny! So we give you the choice - if you want to be a Nurse, just tick the "Red Cross" box and we will add ribbon crosses to the apron and headscarf !

0894 Dress. The dress has a high collar, long sleeves and wide button-up cuffs, and a button-through front down to just below the hip line. Darts at the waistline give a little shape without restricting movement. The skirt has a front-pleat. The collar and cuffs are made in white cotton.

Made in polester-viscose - so it is hard-wearing, fairly soft, and machine washable!

0895 Apron. Cotton Apron with bib-front, crossover straps at the back, and a wide skirt which wraps nearly all the way around.

0896 Headscarf. Cotton square headscarf, with long ties which are attached to the scarf at the front and then tie at the back of the head. This is a very typical design for this period in history - designed for practicality rather than style, but really effective!
